“Then Samuel took a Vial of Oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be Captain over his Inheritance?” (1 Samuel 10 vs 1). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.
It is important to observe that before Saul’s anointing as King, God already stated that his mission would be to save His people from the hands of the Philistines. (1 Samuel 9 vs 16). The Israelites lived under oppression from the Philistines, and God’s agenda was for Saul to liberate them from that bondage.
So, Saul’s elevation was not just for him, it was for the people. Saul wasn’t raised for the sake of enjoying life; he was raised to free others from bondage. He was raised to raise a generation out of bondage. He was raised to make an impact on the lives of Israelites. He was anointed as King in order to give God’s people a new lease of life.
Friend, one of the greatest tragedy of living is to miss the purpose of your elevation. There is a reason why God blessed you. There is a reason why God promoted you. There is a reason why you are talented and gifted the way you are. It’s not basically about you and your enjoyment!
Beloved, You were raised to raise others. You were blessed so that you can be a channel through which others would be blessed as well. That open door came your way so that those around you can benefit as well. The extra resources around you are not for fancy; they are meant to help you make an impact. Your high-level sphere of influence isn’t for oppression, it’s a platform for generational impact.
The only way to discover Purpose for which you were raised is to ask God who raised you.
Whatever happens, remember, destinies are tied to you, something must flow through you to make their lives better!
Pray with me, “Lord, help me to discover and run with the purpose for which you raised me in Jesus name”.
Enjoy a Restful Saturday!
